Finding the Right Sized Rabbit Cage

Everyone loves to have pets, and for many, rabbits are a top choice. These are very sweet and gentle little creatures, and although they can be a lot of fun, you’ve got to consider their needs. Your rabbit will depend on you to feed and care for it, so you need to be prepared. One important decision you will have to make, probably one of the first, is the type of rabbit cage for your bunny. If you are going to keep it inside your home, you will need to find an indoor rabbit cage.

The rabbit cage you choose for your pet will be your bunny’s new home, so you need to consider all of its needs. Indoor rabbit cages come in many different sizes, so you should choose according to the size of your particular pet. You also need to look at the amount of space you have, and choose a rabbit cage that will fit that area.

Stay away from a smaller sized rabbit cage if at all possible. You want your rabbit to have some wiggle room, and so, a larger cage is preferred. As a general rule, you should buy a cage that’s about 4 times the size of your rabbit when fully grown. This will ensure that your rabbit has enough room to move around and you will also be able to include the other things your rabbit will need.

The size of your rabbit cage should be sufficient enough to hold a water bottle and feeding bottle, a litter box, and a few toys. If your rabbit will spend most of its time roaming around the house, and the cage will be used for sleeping, then a small rabbit cage is okay. You just need to be sure that your rabbit isn’t too tightly cramped to avoid any injury.
